    Fun and interactive

The Zwift Play controllers are well thought out and fun to interact with your avatar. It makes riding on the trainer more fun for long distance rides. Anyone doubting themselves on spending $99 on them just do it.

    Great add-on for Zwift-only users

The Zwift play controllers are fantastic, in a limited setting. If you find yourself on Zwift frequently and enjoy the game elements (rather than just the training aspect), I'd recommend them without reservations. The convenient buttons are significantly better than using the Zwift companion app, and the added ability to steer and brake give you a nice element of immersion. If you use the virtual shifting on Zwift, these are a significant upgrade over the buttons on your bar.

However, they are not without downsides. Connecting them can sometimes be a little fussy, and they do limit the space up on the bar if you like to ride with your hands on the flats. Since it's a closed ecosystem, they can't be configured for any of the other smart trainer programs/apps, which does lock you in to Zwift somewhat further. Despite all this, I'd say that if you're at the point that you're reading reviews and debating getting them, you probably should, you bike obsessed degenerate. Buy them and enjoy your trainer rides a little bit more.

    Stopped Working

Having had these launch, they were good fun and loved the short cut buttons. However , approx one month ago they “stuck” with the brakes on. Since then I have been unable to use them and have had to junk them. Shame

    Not worth It Yet

I’ve been riding with the Zwift Game controllers for about a month. I will probably disconnect them from my setup today because they are more trouble than they are worth.

They come in a neatly packaged box and were very easy to install and connect to Zwift. My initial impressions we very favorable. The Zwift paddles are located under the brake/shifting levers on my bike and I find them to be difficult to operate. The four buttons on top of each controller are hard to use. I prefer to use my phone or PC.

The steering is not intuitive and does not behave like a real bike. I’ve done Repack Rush a dozen times and never had anything like a clean run. Paddle steering does not work on group or open rides. It may help when racing, but I’ve not tried it yet.

The biggest drawback is that the game has frozen three times when using the game controllers. I use Wahoo accessories (trainer, sensors, Climb). This had been working great for the last 12 months. Now it is locking up. When the game freezes, I have to use Windows task manager to restart and I lose all my ride data.

Lastly, I have a personal gripe. I put a towel over my bars to catch sweat and cushion my hands. The towel makes it impossible for me to use the paddles. I can overcome this with smaller towels, but it’s easier to just stop using the paddles.

Simple setup, steering has very good feel

Enjoying the Zwift Play: it was easy to set up; the battery life is excellent; easy to charge; the feel of steering is very good. Didn't think I'd use the braking feature but it's great for riding with Robo Pacer and going after the sprint jerseys
